December 2011 - Clearwater SWCD Board of Supervisors has set a January 2012 meeting date: Thursday, January 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the USDA Service Center in Bagley. At this meeting dates, times, and locations will be set for the remaining 2012 board meetings.
November 2011 - We are now accepting orders for spring 2012 trees. We have great new items such as Riverbank Grapes and Black Walnuts among old favorites such as Red/Norway Pines and White Spruce. Go to the Annual Tree Sale page to download the order form and call our office with any questions about tree types, custom planting quotes, and tree planter rental details. Trees are an essential element of soil and water conservation. Planting trees from Clearwater SWCD is an affordable way to support conservation work and improve our shared environment.
October 2011 - Deer season rifle and bow hunting permits for the Clearwater SWCD Conservation Farm and Learning Center are available at our office. Call for details or better yet, just stop by to pick up your hunting permit. There is no cost, but names and addresses for all persons in your hunting party must be submitted.
August 2011 - Clearwater SWCD nitrate testing clinic at the Clearwater County Fair. Bring a 1/2 cup (4 oz) well water sample to the SWCD booth in the commercial exhibit building on Friday, August 5, 1-4pm; or Saturday, August 6, 10-noon, or 3-5pm. These nitrate tests are free and results will be available in about 5 minutes.This project is cosponsored by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and the Clearwater SWCD. July 2011 - Clearwater SWCD would like to thank former SWCD board supervisor, Paul Imle, for his generous donation of time, labor, and parts to rehab one of the SWCD tree planters. Paul made this contribution in memory of the late SWCD supervisor Bob Bilden. Paul's actions are a fitting tribute to Bob's values and will help to carry forward the SWCD's mission for years to come. Thank you Paul!
March 2011 - Clearwater SWCD is saddened to announce the passing of longterm board member, Robert "Bob" Bilden, Sr., on March 7, 2011. Bob served the district for approximately 40 years and showed a deep commitment to community service in all aspects of his life. He will be greatly missed! Click here to read a complete obituary.
